  11.     These release notes contain late-breaking information about
  12. the Titanic demo, a quick overview of how to play, a list of
  13. known problems with this pre-release, and information on 
  14. contacting technical support.
  15.  
  16.     For more information on installing and troubleshooting
  17. problems with Titanic, please first see the install guide 
  18. on the CD.  It's stored as Microsoft Word and Write documents 
  19. on the first Titanic CD.  The filename is "\INSTALL.WRI" or 
  20. "\INSTALL.DOC".  You can view the install guide by right-
  21. clicking on the Titanic CD icon.

  24. ---- INSTALLING TITANIC ---------------------------------------
  25.  
  26. WINDOWS 95, WINDOWS NT 4.0, AND LATER:
  27.  
  28.     1. Insert the first Titanic CD in your CD-ROM drive.
  29.     2. Select "Install Titanic" from the window that appears.
  30.     3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  31.  
  32. WINDOWS 3.1 AND WINDOWS FOR WORKGROUPS 3.11:
  33.  
  34.     1. Insert the first Titanic CD in your CD-ROM drive.
  35.     2. In Program Manager, select "File/Run" from the menu.
  36.     3. Type
  37.          D:SETUP
  38.        where "D:" is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
  39.     4. If Titanic says you need to "Upgrade Windows", follow 
  40.        steps 5 through 7.  Otherwise, proceed to step 8.
  41.     5. Select "Upgrade Windows" from the window that appears.
  42.     6. Follow the upgrade instructions.
  43.     7. After your computer restarts, rerun the Titanic setup 
  44.        program as you did in steps 2 and 3.
  45.     8. Select "Install Titanic" from the window that appears.
  46.     9. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  47.  
  48.     Please read the "Upgrading Windows 3.1" section in the 
  49.     install guide for important instruction on ensuring that 
  50.     your Windows configuration is Win32s compatible.

  52. WINDOWS NT 3.51:
  53.  
  54.     1. Insert the first Titanic CD in your CD-ROM drive.
  55.     2. In Program Manager, select "File/Run" from the menu.
  56.     3. Type

  63. ---- KEYBOARD COMMANDS -----------------------------------------

  65. While playing the Windows version of Titanic, you can use 
  66. the following keys:
  67.  
  68. Esc                 Skip the current animation
  69. Arrow keys          Control the player
  70. A, W, D             Same as the arrow keys; use the preferences 
  71.                     menu to change
  72. Ctrl+0 thru Ctrl+9  Set sound volume, Ctrl+0=off, Ctrl+9=loudest
  73. Ctrl+Q              Quit the game and return to the main menu
  74. F1 / F2             Increase/decrease the brightness of the screen
  75. F3 / F4             Increase/decrease the redness of the screen
  76. F5 / F6             Increase/decrease the greenness of the screen
  77. F7 / F8             Increase/decrease the blueness of the screen
  78. F9                  Restore the screen to its default settings
  79. F12                 Information about the runtime engine

  82. ---- QUICK OVERVIEW -------------------------------------------

  84.      After starting the demo you will see an opening movie 
  85. followed by a screen that gives you three options.  Clicking on 
  86. the first button will send you to the Trailer section of the 
  87. demo.  This is a brief overview of the entire game.  Clicking on 
  88. the second button will send you to the Interactive section of 
  89. the demo.  Here your boss will give you a mission and you must 
  90. explore the ship to solve it.  You can save your game at any 
  91. time during the Interactive section.  Clicking on the third 
  92. button will send you to the Slideshow section of the demo.

  94. "Titanic: Adventure Out of Time".

  97. ---- KNOWN PROBLEMS -------------------------------------------

  99. CONFLICTS WITH SOME SCREEN SAVERS:
  100.  
  101.   If you have a screen saver installed, we recommend you disable
  102.   it before playing Titanic.  Some screen savers can cause the
  103.   screen to be erased and not repainted correctly, and other
  104.   screen savers that play sounds can cause Titanic to crash.
